Josefa Castillo faces political pressure amid INAIPI management

Josefa Castillo Rodríguez, executive director of the National Institute for Early Childhood Integral Care (INAIPI), has focused her administration since August 2024 on expanding service coverage and improving the quality of care for children aged zero to five.

Under her leadership, INAIPI has expanded its network of Integral Early Childhood Care Centers (CAIPI) and Family and Childhood Care Centers (CAFI), providing essential services such as nutrition, health, and early stimulation. The institution has achieved high performance ratings, including an 89.50% score in the SISMAP public management ranking and a 100% score in its Citizen Commitment Charter.

Despite these institutional results, reports have surfaced regarding political pressure within the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) to remove Castillo from her position. Communicator Pedro Jiménez has alleged that certain sectors of the PRM are urging President Luis Abinader to replace her because she has not endorsed specific political aspirations within the party. There has been no official confirmation from the government or the INAIPI regarding these claims.
