Burgos police arrest two minors for the death of an 83-year-old woman during burglary

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested by the National Police in Burgos following the death of an 83-year-old woman during a burglary. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 13, in the Gamonal neighborhood on Calle Vitoria.

According to autopsy results, the victim died of acute respiratory failure. The suspects reportedly gagged and immobilized the woman, which prevented her from accessing the oxygen apparatus she required for daily survival. The crime scene showed significant disarray, indicating the suspects were searching for valuables.

Police have recovered several pieces of gold jewelry stolen during the incident. The suspects were detained on Friday night and brought before the duty youth prosecutor to determine if they will be placed in a juvenile detention center. Investigators are continuing to analyze DNA samples and CCTV footage, and have not ruled out further arrests.
