Joseph Arminio removed from Delaware candidate forum

Republican congressional candidate Joseph “Dr. Joe” Arminio was removed from a candidate forum in Delaware on Thursday night after repeatedly using male pronouns to refer to Democratic Representative Sarah McBride. The event, hosted by the Jewish Federation of Delaware at the Siegel Jewish Community Center, saw Arminio receive boos from the audience after his opening statement.

Moderator Ken Grant issued a final warning to Arminio following the initial remarks. Approximately 12 minutes later, while discussing healthcare costs, Arminio referred to McBride and Senator Chris Coons as “gentlemen.” Organizers subsequently cut his microphone and removed him from the stage.

During the incident, McBride attempted to intervene, stating she did not want the candidate to lose his ability to speak. However, Republican Senate candidate Michael Katz interrupted, calling for Arminio's removal and suggesting he withdraw from the upcoming election.
