Joseph Haydn’s ‘The Creation’ performed in German churches
Joseph Haydn’s masterpiece, ‘The Creation’, has been featured in recent musical performances across Germany.
In Hersbruck, the Stadtkirche hosted a specialized version of the oratorio designed to introduce children to the monumental work. Led by Deanery Cantor Silke Kupper, the performance utilized a playful approach where performers acting as archangels guided young listeners through the musical history and imagery of the piece. The event featured the Franconian Chamber Philharmonic and the Selneckerkantorei.
In Soltau, the Stadtkantorei Soltau scheduled a performance of the oratorio at St. Johannis Church on November 8. Directed by Manuel Behre, the production includes a 38-piece orchestra composed of members from the Kammer Symphonie Hannover and other regional professional musicians. Soloists for the event include soprano Irina Trutneva, tenor Goetz Phillip Körner, and bass-baritone Markus Krause.
