Josephine film trailer released ahead of theatrical premiere

The psychological thriller “Josephine,” directed by Beth de Araújo, has released its first trailer ahead of its Polish theatrical premiere scheduled for January 2027 via Monolith Films. The film has gained significant attention on the international festival circuit, winning a Jury Prize at Sundance and appearing at the Berlinale and the Nowe Horyzonty festival.

Inspired by a personal childhood experience of the director, the story follows eight-year-old Josephine, whose life is upended after she witnesses a brutal crime in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. The narrative explores the psychological trauma of the child and the ethical dilemma faced by her parents, played by Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan. As law enforcement pressures the family to have Josephine testify in court to ensure the perpetrator is punished, the parents must decide how to protect their daughter’s mental health.
