Josey Dorsey to make film debut alongside father Ryan Dorsey

Josey Dorsey Naya Rivera The Burning Valley Ryan Dorsey acting debut

Josey Hollis Dorsey, the 10-year-old son of the late 'Glee' actress Naya Rivera and actor Ryan Dorsey, is set to make his feature film debut in the upcoming drama 'The Burning Valley'. The production, which began filming in Pennsylvania, marks a significant milestone for the young actor, who previously appeared in a local theater production of 'Seussical Jr.' in 2024.

Josey will share the screen with his father, Ryan Dorsey, who is cast in the role of 'Sam Pope'. The film, which serves as the directorial debut for Evan Coury, explores themes of deindustrialization in the Rust Belt. According to Coury, the story follows a steelworker facing job loss due to a mill shutdown and his subsequent journey through his hometown.

The news comes six years after the tragic passing of Naya Rivera, who died in a 2020 boating accident at Lake Piru, California. Rivera, who was 33 at the time, reportedly saved her son during the incident. Ryan Dorsey has since been raising Josey, and the upcoming film project represents a new chapter in the family's connection to the entertainment industry.
