Josh Acheampong attracts interest from Arsenal and Liverpool

Chelsea is working to secure a long-term contract extension for 20-year-old defender Josh Acheampong, with reports suggesting the club aims to tie him down until 2032. The academy graduate, who can play as both a centre-back and right-back, has attracted significant interest from several Premier League clubs.

Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly held talks or made inquiries regarding the defender. Other clubs including Newcastle United, AFC Bournemouth, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, and Crystal Palace have also shown interest or inquired about his availability.

Despite the external interest, Chelsea has expressed no intention of selling the player, whose current deal runs until 2029. Acheampong is noted for his physical presence at 6ft 3in, his aerial ability, and his proficiency in playing out from the back.
