Josh Acheampong to remain at Chelsea following talks with Xabi Alonso

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has reportedly secured the future of 20-year-old defender Josh Acheampong following a face-to-face meeting with the player's father. Despite interest from several major European clubs, including Liverpool, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, Acheampong has decided to remain at Stamford Bridge.

The decision follows frustrations regarding a lack of first-team opportunities during previous campaigns. Alonso reportedly offered assurances that the England Under-21 international would play a prominent role in his squad for the 2026-27 season. Since the start of the current campaign, Acheampong has featured in five of Chelsea's first six matches across all competitions.
