Josh Brolin addresses Thanos's potential return to the MCU

Actor Josh Brolin has provided an enigmatic response regarding the potential return of the character Thanos to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). During an interview with Collider to promote his film ‘The Dog Stars’, Brolin declined to confirm or deny rumors that the character might appear in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. When asked if the character is truly dead or could return, Brolin stated, “I don’t know how to answer that question. Alright, I’ll stop there.”

Brolin also reflected on the motivations behind Thanos’s actions in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. He noted that the villain’s justification for eliminating half of the universe to save the remaining half was not necessarily wrong from his perspective, stating, “He wiped out half of the entire universe to save the other half. That was his justification, and it’s not necessarily wrong. You know what I mean?”

While the primary version of Thanos was killed in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, the existence of the multiverse and various versions seen in the ‘What If...?’ series maintain the possibility of his return. Speculation among fans suggests his appearance could be linked to upcoming storylines involving Doctor Doom.
