Actor Josh Brolin has confirmed that production for the third installment of the 'Sicario' franchise is expected to begin soon. Brolin, who reprises his role as CIA agent Matt Graver, stated in an interview with ScreenRant that the project 'is happening.'

The film has been in development for several years, previously facing delays due to the WGA strike. While Taylor Sheridan has written previous entries in the series, it has not been officially confirmed if he authored the script for this third chapter.

Key production details remain unconfirmed, including the director and the return of original cast members such as Benicio del Toro or Emily Blunt. Producer Molly Smith has suggested Christopher McQuarrie as a potential director for the project.
