Josh Brolin discusses maintaining 12 years of sobriety
Actor Josh Brolin has shared details regarding his 12-year journey of sobriety, attributing his success to a consistent daily routine. In recent interviews, the 58-year-old revealed that he attends an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting via Zoom every morning at 6 a.m.
Brolin described a turning point in his life after waking up on the sidewalk outside his home, an incident that prompted him to reconsider his lifestyle. He also noted that a deeply personal moment involving his 99-year-old grandmother during her final days served as a significant catalyst for his lasting change.
The actor reflected on his past struggles, including multiple arrests during his 20s and 30s and a period of rehabilitation following a difficult 2013. Brolin stated that he finds more joy in his current life, noting, “I love being sober. I’m having way more fun now than I ever did drinking.”
