Josh Duhamel reacts to Netflix cancellation of ‘Ransom Canyon’

Actor Josh Duhamel has expressed surprise and disappointment following Netflix's decision to cancel the Western romantic drama ‘Ransom Canyon’ after two seasons. Duhamel noted that he felt the show was safe due to its previous success, including a two-week run at number one.

Despite the show's popularity, viewership for the second season saw a significant decline. The eight-episode sophomore season recorded 4.1 million views in its first week, representing a 43% drop from the 7.2 million views seen during the first season's debut.

Duhamel, who stars alongside Minka Kelly, stated that while he is “bummed” and feels for the invested fanbase, he understands the cancellation as a business decision. The series is based on the book series by Jodi Thomas and is set in the Texas Hill Country.
