Josh Giddey poised for standout season with Chicago Bulls

Australian guard Josh Giddey is expected to play a prominent role for the Chicago Bulls in the upcoming 2026-27 NBA season. Following a rebuilding year for the Bulls, the team has introduced a new coach, Tiago Splitter, and a remodeled roster featuring high draft pick Caleb Wilson.

Giddey, 24, enters the season after averaging 17 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game last year. Five-time Olympian Joe Ingles noted that Giddey’s ability to facilitate play and his potential for triple-doubles makes him a central figure for the franchise.

Australia remains a significant presence in the NBA, ranking as the third-most represented country outside the United States, trailing only France and Canada. Other Australians expected to see court time include Dyson Daniels and Jock Landale in Atlanta, Matisse Thybulle in Los Angeles, and Tyrese Proctor in Cleveland.
