Josh Harris discusses Commanders logo and London game revenue

Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris addressed media during a fan rally in London ahead of the team’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. During the event, Harris commented on reports regarding a potential permanent logo change for the franchise. While he did not officially confirm reports that the team intends to adopt a spear and ‘W’ logo as early as 2027, Harris stated, ‘I like the spear. What can I say?’

Harris noted that the design elements aim to respect the team’s history by connecting various themes. Although ESPN and The Athletic have reported that the Commanders prefer a logo update, Harris emphasized that the organization is focused on embracing its past in a respectful manner.

Separately, Harris expressed frustration regarding the financial impact of the NFL’s International Series. While acknowledging the business necessity of playing games abroad, Harris noted that hosting a ‘home game’ in London results in a significant loss of revenue compared to playing at their home stadium.
