Josh Hart eligible for New York Knicks contract extension

Josh Hart is eligible for a contract extension with the New York Knicks, with reports suggesting a potential three-year deal valued between $54 million and $62 million. While Hart is eligible for a larger maximum extension of up to $132 million over four years, a shorter deal is viewed as a practical option for both parties.

Hart is currently entering the final guaranteed year of his contract, which pays $20.9 million for the 2026/27 season, followed by a non-guaranteed team option of approximately $22.4 million for 2027/28. A deal in the $60 million range would provide the veteran player with increased security while allowing the Knicks to maintain financial flexibility regarding their roster and the second apron.

Following a strong season where he averaged 13 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and shot 41% from three-point range, Hart remains a key contributor to the team's recent success.
