Josh Hart says Knicks feel like hunters despite NBA title

New York Knicks guard Josh Hart stated that the team does not feel they have a “target” on their backs heading into the next NBA season. Speaking during an ESPN broadcast at the U.S. Open, Hart noted that because many analysts are not picking the defending champions to repeat, the team feels more like “hunters” than targets.

The Knicks recently ended a 53-year title drought by defeating the San Antonio Spurs in five games during the NBA Finals. While the team opted for a “run-it-back” approach, the Eastern Conference has seen significant roster shifts, including the Philadelphia 76ers adding LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, and the Miami Heat adding Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Knicks are scheduled to receive their championship rings before their season opener on October 20 against the 76ers at Madison Square Garden.
