Josh Hawley and Mike Pence rule out 2028 presidential runs

Republican figures Josh Hawley and Mike Pence have both stated they have no intention of running for office in the 2028 election cycle.

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) told the Washington Examiner that he has “no intention of doing so, period,” regarding a potential White House run. Hawley noted that he does not yet have insight into who will run in 2028, emphasizing the need to focus on upcoming elections first. He also advised potential GOP contenders to prioritize religious conservatives, whom he described as the “backbone” of the party.

Former Vice President Mike Pence announced at an event for the Economic Club of Washington D.C. that he has “no plans” to run for president or any other elected office in 2028. Pence stated that his current focus is to serve as a champion for principles such as reduced taxation, less government regulation, and traditional values.
