Josh Hines-Allen involved in sideline dispute with Patriots staffer

A sideline confrontation occurred during the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 35-6 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday. The incident began after Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter recorded his first career NFL interception by intercepting quarterback Drake Maye.

After Hunter celebrated the play, a New England Patriots ball boy picked up the football. Jaguars linebacker Josh Hines-Allen approached the staffer in an attempt to retrieve the ball as a keepsake for Hunter. The exchange became heated when the ball boy refused to hand over the football and physically pushed Hines-Allen’s arm away, stating, “You can’t touch me!”

Hines-Allen responded by patting the staffer on the back, which further escalated the tension. The confrontation was eventually defused when Jaguars equipment manager George Pellicer stepped between the two individuals. It remains unclear if the football was ever successfully returned to Hunter.
