Josh Inglis set to rejoin Australia squad for South Africa Test series

Wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis is expected to rejoin the Australian squad in Gqeberha ahead of the second Test against South Africa. Inglis, who recently returned to Australia to recover from a fractured finger sustained during the ODI series, will undergo medical assessments to determine his availability for the upcoming matches in Gqeberha or Cape Town.

His potential return, alongside Cameron Green who is recovering from an abdominal strain, creates selection challenges for the Australian team. If either player returns to the lineup, it may impact the batting order, potentially seeing Matt Renshaw move back into an opening role. This follows a difficult first Test in Durban where Australian openers struggled, including a duck from Nic Maddinson.
