Josh Iosefa-Scott linked with move from Exeter Chiefs to France

Exeter Chiefs prop Josh Iosefa-Scott is the subject of a transfer tug-of-war between English and French rugby clubs. The 30-year-old New Zealander, who is English-qualified, has been heavily linked with a move to Provence Rugby in France following the conclusion of his current contract next summer.

Exeter head coach Rob Baxter confirmed that the club has received a “very good offer” from France and has entered contract negotiations to retain the tight-head prop. Baxter indicated a willingness to make financial adjustments within the squad to secure Iosefa-Scott, noting his significant impact since joining the Chiefs in 2021.

Iosefa-Scott has become a key figure in the Exeter lineup, recently scoring tries in each of the club's first two Premiership matches of the season. While a move to Provence remains a strong possibility, the English club is actively working to prevent his departure.
