Josh Jacobs placed on NFL Commissioner's Exempt List
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been placed on the NFL Commissioner's Exempt List following misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property. The charges stem from an alleged domestic altercation with an ex-girlfriend in May at his Wisconsin residence.
District Attorney David L. Lasee stated that surveillance footage from a garage corroborates portions of the victim's account, including an incident where Jacobs allegedly grabbed the woman and threw her to the ground. While initial felony charges were dropped due to lack of evidence, the current misdemeanor charges remain.
While on the exempt list, Jacobs is prohibited from practicing or attending games but will continue to receive his salary. The Packers have adjusted their roster in response, trading for Kaleb Johnson and relying on MarShawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks to fill the void. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and general manager Brian Gutekunst expressed support for Jacobs, stating they trust him while the legal and league investigations proceed.
