Josh Jacobs returns to Packers practice amid NFL investigation
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs returned to practice this week after being removed from the NFL Commissioner’s Exempt List. Jacobs had missed the first six games of the season following his arrest in May involving allegations of domestic abuse.
Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of battery and criminal damage to property. During his first media appearance since the legal proceedings, he expressed remorse, stating, “I’m remorseful and sorry for putting this team in this situation.” He noted that a brief decision can alter one's life and expressed a desire to learn and move forward.
While Jacobs is eligible to play, head coach Matt LaFleur indicated his availability for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions will depend on his performance in practice. The NFL is continuing its investigation into the incident, meaning further disciplinary action remains a possibility despite his return to the field.
