Josh Jacobs' victim files motion to seal evidence in battery case

Attorneys representing the victim in the criminal case against Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs have filed a motion to permanently seal evidence and discovery materials. The motion, filed on Tuesday, aims to protect the victim's privacy regarding intimate details of the incident and to prevent the public disclosure of information that could identify or locate her.

Jacobs previously pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property stemming from a May 23 incident. The allegations involve Jacobs throwing his then-girlfriend to the ground and damaging her phone. Surveillance video from a garage, which reportedly corroborates the victim's account, was temporarily sealed and is a central piece of evidence.

The NFL has placed Jacobs on the Commissioner’s Exempt List while it conducts its own investigation into the matter. While the exempt list allows the player to continue receiving his salary, it prohibits him from playing or practicing. The league is reportedly attempting to obtain the surveillance video as part of its disciplinary review.
