Trainer Adam Booth has confirmed that British boxer Josh Kelly will heal from the facial cuts suffered in his recent win over Caoimhin Agyarko within eight weeks, thanks to surgeon Neil Scott's work. The projected recovery timeline clears the path for Kelly to pursue a unification fight with unified super‑welterweight champion Jaron "Boots" Ennis before the end of the year.

Booth ruled out an alternative bout with WBC champion Sebastian Fundora, citing Fundora's own mandatory obligations. Ennis, who recently stopped Xander Zayas to retain his IBF, WBA and WBO titles, has expressed interest in a fight with Kelly, while Kelly aims to add Ennis's belts to his own after defending his British title on Anthony Joshua’s undercard.
