Josh Pierson signs multi-year deal with AJ Foyt Racing

Josh Pierson has signed a multi-year contract to join AJ Foyt Racing for the 2027 IndyCar season. The 20-year-old driver will pilot the No. 4 Chevrolet, joining teammate Dennis Hauger to form what is expected to be one of the youngest lineups on the grid.

Pierson joins the series following a successful tenure in Indy NXT and experience in international sports car racing. Notably, he holds the record as the youngest driver to ever compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, having entered the race at age 16. His background includes competing in the World Endurance Championship, IMSA, and the Asian Le Mans Series.

To secure the seat, Pierson completed an evaluation test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway after not meeting the automatic approval threshold of the new IndyCar driver standards system. Larry Foyt, president of AJ Foyt Racing, praised Pierson’s maturity, work ethic, and extensive racing experience.
