Josh Rouse announces new album Museums and Women
Singer-songwriter Josh Rouse is releasing a new 10-track album titled ‘Museums and Women’ via New West Records. The project, scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, features a mix of musical styles ranging from jangly optimism to bossa nova influences.
Much of the album was recorded in Nashville through loose, unplanned studio sessions with longtime production partner Brad Jones on bass and Fred Eltringham on drums. The sessions involved live recordings followed by same-day overdubs. Additionally, two tracks, ‘Things Are Looking Up’ and ‘Other Side of the Tracks’, were produced by Rouse at his Rio Bravo Studio in Valencia, Spain.
The album’s title is inspired by a book by John Updike. Rouse describes the work as an exploration of human connection and the search for love. The release will be available on CD and in various vinyl formats, including 150g black and signed cream-coloured pressings.
