Josh Simmons remains week-to-week with back injury

Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Josh Simmons remains week-to-week as he continues to recover from a back injury. Simmons has missed the first two games of the season, with undrafted rookie Kahlil Benson starting in his place.

Head coach Andy Reid stated that Simmons is “working his tail off” and attending meetings and treatments at the facility daily. While Simmons is making progress and swelling has decreased, the team has not established a specific timeline for his return and has opted not to place him on injured reserve.

Additionally, rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane was active for the recent game against the Indianapolis Colts following a shoulder injury sustained in Week 1. However, Reid noted that Delane was essentially only available for emergency situations and did not see game action.
