Josh Sweat identified as potential trade target for Cowboys and Packers

Arizona Cardinals edge rusher Josh Sweat has been identified as a potential trade target for both the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers as the NFL trade deadline approaches.

Reports suggest the Cowboys may have interest in the 29-year-old defender. Sweat, who signed a four-year, $76 million contract with Arizona, has dealt with offseason injury uncertainty, though he previously expressed a desire to remain with the Cardinals.

In Green Bay, analysts have proposed acquiring Sweat to bolster a defense depleted by injuries to players such as Edgerrin Cooper and Javon Hargrave. A move to the Packers would reunite Sweat with defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, who previously coached him. Such a trade would aim to pair Sweat with Micah Parsons once the latter returns from injury.
