Iowa State University has hired Josh Turner as its new senior deputy athletics director. Turner joins the athletic department to work under athletics director Jared Benko, reuniting the two after their previous collaboration at Georgia Southern.

In his new role, Turner will oversee strategic planning, commercial strategy, revenue generation, and revenue sharing. He will also manage name, image, and likeness (NIL) initiatives and provide leadership for the department’s front office staff.

Turner most recently served as the deputy athletics director and chief financial officer at Florida State University, where he managed a $243 million consolidated budget. His professional background includes roles at Georgia Southern and the University of Miami, with specific expertise in enterprise financial strategy and long-range financial planning within the evolving landscape of college athletics.
