Joshua James Lozano faces up to 100 years for child exploitation

Joshua James Lozano, a 42-year-old hospital worker from Glendale, appeared in a Phoenix courtroom on Monday facing 10 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. During the hearing, Lozano reportedly fainted after hearing that each count carries a potential 10-year sentence to be served consecutively, which could result in a total prison term of up to 100 years.

The investigation was initiated by Glendale police following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding explicit content accessed through Lozano’s internet service provider. Authorities used an account, phone number, and IP address to link the activity to Lozano, leading to his arrest last Thursday.

A judge set Lozano’s bond at $150,000. If released on bail, he is prohibited from contacting minors, possessing a smartphone, or accessing the internet, and must wear an electronic monitor. He is scheduled to return to court on September 21.
