Josip Mišić faces suspension after insulting referee
Dinamo Zagreb captain Josip Mišić faces disciplinary action following a direct red card during a match against Lokomotiva. According to official match reports, Mišić insulted referee Patrik Kolarić with profanity, stating, “Puši mi k. . . . , smrade jedan smrdljivi.”
Under Article 52 of the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) disciplinary regulations, unsporting behavior involving insults toward a referee can result in suspensions ranging from two to ten matches. While the official SHNL website initially listed a one-match suspension, the penalty was later updated to two matches. There has been reported inconsistency on the official platform regarding the final number of matches to be served.
Precedents in Croatian football suggest a minimum two-match ban for similar verbal abuse. Previous cases involving players such as Leon Belcar, Ivan Leko, and Franko Andrijašević resulted in suspensions of three to five matches for comparable conduct.
