Jota Quest releases tribute album to Tim Maia for 30th anniversary

To celebrate 30 years of their career, the Brazilian band Jota Quest has released a tribute album titled ‘Jota Quest & Tim Maia – Dance Enquanto é Tempo’. The project features 16 tracks, including Tim Maia’s greatest hits and lesser-known songs, reinterpreted by the band.

Produced by bassist PJ in partnership with Universal Music, the album includes collaborations with artists such as Thiaguinho, Carlinhos Brown, Negra Li, and Mãeana. The production also incorporates original vocal snippets from Tim Maia, made possible through the support of his son, Carmelo Maia.

The release coincides with the upcoming remastered reissue of the band’s debut album, ‘J. Quest’, in November. Additionally, the band will perform a special show, ‘Jota Quest Toca Tim Maia’, debuting at Rock in Rio on September 6 before touring other cities in Brazil.
