Journalism awards open for submissions in Brazil

Two distinct journalism awards in Brazil are currently accepting entries. The Bahia State Court of Justice (TJBA), through its Women's Coordination office, is hosting the 2nd “Narrativas que Salvam” Journalism Prize. This initiative aims to highlight journalistic works that contribute to the debate on preventing and combating violence against women. Categories include written, audiovisual, audio, digital, community communication, and university journalism. The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 30.

Separately, the Mato Grosso Legislative Assembly (ALMT) is conducting the 2nd ALMT Journalism Prize – Troféu Parlamento 2026. This award is open to journalistic productions published in Portuguese between January 1 and November 9, 2026, by media outlets or higher education institutions based in Mato Grosso. Submissions require specific documentation, including letters of consent from media vehicles and proof of authorship. The deadline for entries is November 9, 2026.
