Monterrey journalists struck by vehicle during live broadcast

Gamavisión Noticias reporter Alma de la Rosa Flores and cameraman Cristo Morales were struck by a vehicle during a live television broadcast in Monterrey, Mexico, on Friday, October 2.

The crew was reporting on Avenida Morones Prieto regarding road hazards, including a landslide and a fallen tree caused by heavy rainfall in Nuevo León. During the live segment, a vehicle lost control on the wet pavement and struck both journalists. The incident was captured on camera before the broadcast was interrupted.

Both individuals were transported to a hospital for medical evaluation. While de la Rosa reported suffering multiple bruises, she stated she was stable and described herself as being ‘alive by a miracle’. Morales sustained injuries to his arm and ankle. Authorities detained the driver, reported to be a 19-year-old, at the scene. De la Rosa noted that she had been warning motorists to slow down due to the hazardous road conditions just moments before the collision.
