Nadareishvili claims the arrest is a response to the journalist documenting claims made by the late Lazare Jorbenadze, who accused the current government of transferring Davit Gareja territories to Azerbaijan. The editor-in-chief argued that questioning the management of Christian sites and the potential loss of territory should not be treated as criminal activity.
