Alberto Stasi and Andrea Sempio dominate renewed debate over Garlasco murder

Journalist Alessandro De Giuseppe, in a recent YouTube interview, reiterated his belief that convicted murderer Alberto Stasi is innocent, calling the certainty of his innocence “the most certain thing” emerging from the new phase of the case.

The focus of the investigation has shifted to Andrea Sempio, now the sole suspect identified by the Pavia prosecutor. Experts point to forensic inconsistencies: the size‑42 Frau shoe found at the crime scene does not match Sempio’s foot dimensions, and DNA on the victim’s nails only indicates a paternal line rather than a definitive individual match.

Medical examiner Pasquale Bacco publicly challenged Sempio, asking “Where were you at 11:00 a.m. on 13 August 2007?” and warning that continued denial could lead to a life sentence. Meanwhile, Stasi, released to semi‑freedom, was photographed at his workplace in Milan, where he told reporters “You cannot enter here,” underscoring his continued claim of non‑involvement.
