Journalist Bushra al-Tawil moved to solitary confinement
The Palestinian Prisoner Club reported that Israeli authorities have transferred journalist Bushra al-Tawil to solitary confinement in Ramla Prison. Al-Tawil, 33, was moved from Damun Prison following her placement under administrative detention approximately six months ago.
Al-Tawil has a history of detention dating back to 2011. Her father, Jamal al-Tawil, also remains detained in Israeli prisons. The Prisoner Club stated that the family has faced continuous targeting, including repeated raids and property damage to their home.
The report highlights harsh conditions for the approximately 90 Palestinian women held in Israeli prisons, citing policies of starvation, deprivation of medical care, and the spread of scabies due to poor hygiene. This development follows a video released by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, which showed him entering the women's section at Damun Prison, an act the Prisoner Club described as a violation of privacy and human dignity.
