Journalist Fabián Lascano reported kidnapped in Quito

Journalist Fabián Lascano of the digital media outlet Llamingo EC has been reported kidnapped in the La Orellana sector of Quito, Ecuador. According to reports, the kidnappers allegedly demanded a ransom of $2,000 via a group chat used by the media organization.

Lascano's parents have filed a formal complaint with the Attorney General's Office in Pichincha. The director of Llamingo EC has requested assistance from the National Police to help locate the journalist and has called for public awareness while advising against the disclosure of sensitive information that could jeopardize his safety.
