Journalist Goliath Pérez Pulgarín dies at 77 in Nariño, Colombia

Goliath Pérez Pulgarín, a 77‑year‑old journalist, historian and community leader, died in Nariño, Colombia. He founded the local radio station La Voz de Nariño, which became the main information source for the municipality, and created the newspaper El Gran Precursor, promoting local journalism, historical memory and cultural identity. Pérez Pulgarín also served as a councilor for the "Balcón Verde de Antioquia" and was active in various community initiatives.

His death prompted messages of condolence from colleagues, authorities and residents, who highlighted his lifelong commitment to informing and empowering the community. His son Álvaro Goliath Pérez, a correspondent chief at Teleantioquia, continues his journalistic legacy. The funeral is scheduled for 8 July at the Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes parish in Nariño.
