After the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests ended following Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation on July 25, student protesters in Delhi's Jantar Mantar and Mumbai's Shivaji Park approached Zee News reporter Kapil Raut to apologize for heckling and mocking him during live coverage. Video footage showed protesters shaking his hand, hugging him and one saying, “We were really impressed with the patience you showed at that time.”

Raut downplayed the episode, stating, “It was nothing. They were protesting. Nobody misbehaved. Everyone is fine.” The exchange and the subsequent apologies circulated widely on social media, sparking mixed reactions online.
