Journalist Silvia Trillini injured in assault during Giulianova-Ancona match

journalist assault Giulianova Calcio SSC Ancona stadium violence Serie D

Journalist Silvia Trillini was injured during a Serie D football match between Giulianova and Ancona at the Rubens Fadini stadium. During the game, a fan repeatedly punched the press box, causing the plexiglass to shatter. Shards of glass struck Trillini in the face, resulting in a deep wound that required stitches at a local hospital. Her colleague, Ferdinando Vicini, was also present during the incident.

Trillini has filed a formal complaint with the Carabinieri after authorities identified and detained the aggressor. Both the Order of Journalists (ODG) Marche and USSI Marche have condemned the violence. Trillini and other officials criticized the inadequate security presence, noting a lack of effective protection from stewards or law enforcement at the press station.

Additional reports from the match indicated further unrest, including racist chanting directed at player Pupo Posada and bottles being thrown toward players. Officials have raised concerns regarding the management of public order and the deteriorating state of the stadium facilities.
