Journalists undergo capacity building in Burundi and Chad

In Burundi, the Agency for Support to the Realization of Public-Private Partnership Contracts (ARCP) held a workshop from October 29 to 30, 2026, to train journalists on public-private partnership (PPP) tools. ARCP Director Jeanne d’Arc Igirimbabazi emphasized that understanding PPPs is essential for journalists to help promote socio-economic development. She noted that PPPs can mobilize private investment and improve public infrastructure, provided there is transparency, risk assessment, and protection of the general interest.

In Chad, a three-day training session for journalists concluded on October 31, 2026, in Bongor. Organized by the Bureau d’études d’impact, environnement, social et communication (BEIES-C) with support from the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority (AILC), the program focused on investigative journalism, ethics, and media responsibility in the fight against corruption. Twenty journalists from eight provinces participated, resulting in the creation of a dedicated platform to combat corruption in Chad.
