Journey band explores musical legacy through lesser-known tracks

The rock band Journey is noted for its massive commercial hits, such as the 18-times platinum single ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’, as well as various ballads and rockers. While their Top 10 singles and multi-platinum albums defined much of their career, the group also produced numerous underrated tracks and deep cuts that were not widely played on the radio.

One such track is ‘Kohoutek’ from their 1975 self-titled debut album. The instrumental piece serves as a musical bridge between the earlier work of members Gregg Rolie and Neal Schon in Santana and the evolving sound of Journey. The song was inspired by the comet of the same name.
