Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Gymnasium students appeal to Serbian Orthodox Church

Students and parents of the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Gymnasium in Novi Sad have issued a formal appeal to Patriarch Porfirije and the Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC). The group is seeking assistance in addressing ongoing issues within the educational institution.

In their letter, the students and parents expressed deep concern regarding the school's current situation. They have called upon the Church leadership to urge relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the actions of the school director and the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of several teachers.

The appeal requests that, if no legal or clear reasons for the dismissals are found, the teachers be reinstated. The group emphasized the need for a school environment that respects the dignity of employees and ensures the rights of students to a stable education and a fair learning environment.
