Jovana Arsic claims bronze in women's scull at European Rowing Championships in Varese
Serbian rower Jovana Arsic secured the bronze medal in the women's single scull (W1x) at the European Rowing Championships held in Varese, Italy, finishing in 7:21.58. The gold went to Britain's Lauren Henry (7:15.11) and the silver to Lithuania's Viktorija Sankute (7:19.22). Arsic's performance followed her earlier gold medal at the 2024 European Championships in Segedín.
She praised the quality of her three races at the event and said the result boosts her confidence ahead of the World Championships in Amsterdam. Serbian teammates Martin Machkovic and Nikola Pimenov also triumphed, winning gold in the men's double scull.
Arsic thanked the Serbian Ministry of Sports, the Olympic Committee, the rowing federation and her club Partizan for their support, and expressed optimism about Serbia's prospects at the upcoming world stage.
