Actor Goran Višnjić and family move back to Istria after 30 years abroad

After more than three decades living outside Croatia, actor Goran Višnjić and his wife Eva Višnjić announced that they have permanently returned to their homeland. The couple spent 25 years in California before relocating to Cornwall in the United Kingdom for six years. Citing a desire for a quieter lifestyle and better education for their children – who already speak Croatian but needed stronger reading and writing skills – they chose to settle in Istria, a region praised for its mild climate, olive oil, wine and truffles. Eva said that Brexit made travel to Croatia increasingly difficult and that the British climate was a poor fit after years in sunnier locales. The family now lives close to relatives and friends, describing the move as “good to be home.”
