Jovanotti documentary to premiere at Rome Film Festival

Italian musician Jovanotti, born Lorenzo Cherubini, is celebrating his 60th birthday. The milestone coincides with the world premiere of his documentary, ‘Lorenzo – L’incredibile avventura di Jovanotti’, at the 21st Rome Film Festival in the Special Screening section.

Directed by Dario Zonta and Carlo Zoratti, the film is the result of a seven-year project. Jovanotti granted the directors full creative freedom, describing his role as a ‘giraffe in the savanna’ who participates in the film but has no control over the narrative. The documentary aims to provide an intimate look at the man behind the stage persona, exploring his private life and personal reflections beyond his musical career.

The film, which features art direction by Lorenzo Fanton, is scheduled for a special seven-day theatrical run in Italy from November 26 to December 2, 2023, distributed by Plaion Pictures.

Separately, the Rome Film Festival will also host the Italian premiere of ‘Yesterday the Eye Didn’t Sleep’, a film by Palestinian director Rakan Mayasi set in the Bekaa Valley.
