Jovem Pan acquires 50% of Rede Mais Família to launch national TV network

Brazilian media group Jovem Pan is set to purchase a 50% stake in the Rede Mais Família television operation, owned by entrepreneur Rinaldi Faria. The deal, negotiated with Jovem Pan vice‑president Marcelo Carvalho and partner Antonio Augusto Amaral de Carvalho Filho (known as Tutinha), will give Jovem Pan access to Rede Mais Família’s affiliate network across the country. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition aims to transform the broadcaster into a full‑time open‑air TV network with a diversified schedule that includes news, sports, entertainment, drama, reality shows and other original content, positioning Jovem Pan to compete with Brazil’s major television networks. Rinaldi Faria will remain involved during a transition period, sharing in the operation’s results. The move expands Jovem Pan’s presence beyond its radio stations and the Jovem Pan News TV channel, adding a national television platform anchored by its existing infrastructure in Belo Horizonte and other markets.
