Jovon ``Playa Pat'' Booker convicted in multi-million drug operation

Jovon “Playa Pat” Booker, a 33-year-old rapper from Pensacola, Florida, has been convicted by a federal jury on firearm offenses linked to a multi-million dollar drug trafficking operation. The charges include discharging a handgun during a drug trafficking crime and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Evidence presented at trial indicated that between 2020 and 2025, Booker managed an interstate network that transported hundreds of kilograms of marijuana from Seattle to Pensacola. Prosecutors stated that Booker used the proceeds from these activities to purchase luxury items, including a Lamborghini Urus, diamond-encrusted jewelry, and high-end watches, while reporting no legitimate income to the government.

The trial also addressed a May 12, 2024, shooting at the Paparazzi Bistro & Lounge, where Booker allegedly shot co-conspirator Gustavus Nairn at point-blank range following a dispute over a drug debt.

Booker previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and multiple counts of money laundering. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years and a potential life sentence. Law enforcement has seized over $500,000 in jewelry, vehicles, firearms, and currency for forfeiture. Booker's sentencing is scheduled for November 5.
