Joycal Japan holds business contest with Kohei Uchimura

Joycal Japan, an automotive service company, held its ‘Business Contest 2026’ on August 26, 2026, in Tokyo. The event featured 20 young employees divided into five teams presenting business proposals to former professional gymnast and company sponsor Kohei Uchimura.

The contest aimed to leverage Uchimura’s experience and reputation to drive Joycal’s business growth. The winning proposal, titled ‘UCHIMURA DRAFT’ by Team 4, introduces a new recruitment event specifically for student-athletes. In this format, Uchimura acts as a ‘Special Game Master’ to observe students and draft them based on their athletic strengths, creating a bidirectional recruitment process.

Another project, ‘JOYCAL 0’ by Team 3, received the ‘Realization Award.’ This initiative focuses on Uchimura’s decision-making process to create an action guideline book for employees. Other proposals included a ‘one-day manager’ concept for Uchimura at partner stores and a community-based project in Soka City. The company plans to implement the winning ideas.
